Hey Heartlanders!

Hope you are all enjoying this snowy weather.  From a teacher who has had a few extra hours and a day off, know that I have…. but don’t worry, you’ll all be laughing when I’m still in school in mid-June!  Thought for the week…When life sends you a snow storm…get out the sleds!

Here are a few important reminders…

Our second annual February Fun Day is Saturday, February 7, from 10:00-3:00 at Logansport Mall.  We’ll be working behind the scenes, along with other churches and organizations to provide a free, fun-filled, day for our community!  Inflatable set up will start around 8:30.   We’ll need lots of volunteers to keep the inflatables up and running with excellence!

Jerri Torrey will be at church on Sunday with a sign-up sheet.  Please sign up for a shift or two!  Our volunteers from last year had a great time!  Be sure to tell your friends and neighbors so they won’t miss out on a memory making family day!

Weigh down workshop classes starts Wednesday, February 4, 6:00pm at Church of the Heartland, Logansport.  If you need inspiration and accountability with healthy eating habits, come and join this small group who are determined improve perspectives.

Man-up, men’s group, which meets at COTH Plymouth every other Saturday is going very well.  If you need some guy, hang out time where you’ll be challenged to spiritually grow, plan on attending.

Also, this week is the February A1:8 offering that supports the missions branch of Heartland by strengthening churches and mission projects in the US, Uganda, Serbia, Bulgaria, India, and other parts of the world.  When you give to these missions offerings, you’re blessing the body of Christ and helping to build the kingdom of God in many different nations.  During this offering time, you may fulfill the monthly pledge made at the A 1:8 banquet or give a special gift for spreading the Gospel to the nations.

Over the past few weeks, Pastor Jim and I have been encouraged to see Church of the Heartland working together as the body of Christ.  We love to see you helping people in need and praying for each other.  It’s a joy to us as pastors to see you supporting one other.

THANK YOU to those of you who are praying and reaching out to your brothers and sisters behind the scenes.  Be encouraged, because God does not let any of those things go unnoticed.

What can we say…doing life with all of you Heartlanders is exactly where we want to be!

We appreciate you and look forward to seeing you Sunday,
Pastor Michele

Gentlemen Gentlemen Gentlemen

The only way I know how to convey this to all you men out there is that if you are not coming out to the  Man Up meetings you are missing it.

You may be asking yourself this question;

Why in the world would I want to spend two of my Saturday morning sleep ins with a bunch of men?         Well I am glad that you asked.

  1. You can spend some quality time with your pastors at breakfast or lunch.  I don’t think any of our pastors  have a problem with having to have a  reason for going out to eat.
  2. If you have to travel to the meeting with a bunch of men you will build some long and lasting relationship with each other.
  3. You will be able to see the true meaning of becoming a team as all the campuses join together in one location leaning from each other.
  4. While the teaching is going on you will be able to share some of those though provoking questions that you have been pondering for years.
  5. But most of all you will be able to see what it will take to become a powerful spirit filled man of God, so that you may stand in the midst of a battle and WIN.

So don’t just sleep you Saturdays away. Come and join us at our Plymouth campus on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month at 9:30. I personally guarantee that you will not regret coming. In just two short week I have seen a change in some of the men and in myself.

So don’t delay any longer join us and MAN UP.

Tokbox

Hey everyone, there is something new going on in Church of the Heartland. Many of us have become Tokboxers. Yep you heard it hear first Tokboxers. It is fairly easy to get evolved.

First –you have to have High Speed Internet service.

Secondly–you will have to purchase a camera for your laptop or your home computer and a headset with a mic.

Thirdly– once you load them on your computer you are ready to go.

You then will log on to http://www.tokbox.com and follow the instructions.

This is going to one of the best ways of communication will all our campuses. You will get to see the person or persons face to face while you are chatting.

Today we were able to see and talk to pastor Herb which is in Texas, pastor Heath who was caught in a blizzard in South bend, Pastor Larry Redlin who was in Knox, Pastor Shawn,Lyndee, who were in various places, Becky Phillips, Chris Miller, Pastor John, Big Al, Jeanne Newman, and My self who were all at home. Oh bye the way this was all at one time.

This is trully going to be a great tool for us to use. So come and join all the fun with us and become a Tokboxer today.

Jim
