Kids With A Mission Winter Camp – 3/2/2012 to 3/3/2012 @ Winamac. An overnight, inside camp experience for kids Kindergarten through 5th grade. This medieval themed camp includes: live kids’ band, delicious food, crafts, hilarious games, inflatables and life-changing messages. Only $35 per camper. Applications will be available January 22. Space is limited!

 

Events!

Our youth group is planning a trip to Acquire the Fire, a youth event in Muncie on March 9-10.  The cost to attend the event is $90 and includes a ticket to the event, food, transportation, and a hotel room.  The first payment of $50 is due on Sunday, January 22.  The second payment will be due at the end of February.  This is a life-changing event for teenagers!

On February 5th, there will be a Super Bowl party at the Logansport campus.  Along with the game being broadcast, there will be cards, board games, food, and time to connect with other awesome Heartlanders!  Don’t miss it!  Look for more details to come!

Randall Black, the dynamic pastor of Faith Point Christian Center in Virginia, will be speaking in Logansport on Monday evening, February 13th.  He’s amazing, and you will want to be there! 

KWAM winter camp will be March 2-3 at the Winamac campus.  This overnight camp is a highlight of kids’ winter season!  Look for applications and more information soon!

Christmas Reminders

Hello Everyone,

This Saturday December 17th from 12:00-2:00 in the mall there will be a Christmas concert featuring Larry and Anita Redlin along with some very special guests.  We hope to see you there!

Remember our Christmas Celebration Service “A Not So Silent Night” will be on FRIDAY December 23rd.  Refreshments start at 4:30 and the service will begin at 6:00pm.  There will be NO Sunday service that week. 

Also, we have been gathering supplies for the food baskets.  Please see Patty Moore if you have any questions or concerns regarding the collection of food.

Christmas Time is Here!

Here are some up and coming events to help you celebrate the Christmas season. 

December 2nd:  Ladies Progressive Dinner start time is 6:00pm.  The dinner starts at Bonnie Lawson’s house in Star City and ends at Jamie Irving’s house in Royal Center. 

December 4th:  Right after church Rock Youth group is going over to the Moore house (228 Coles Street) and decorate Christmas cookies.  Youth in grades 6-12 are invited to attend this special event. 

December 11th: Men’s “Putting on the Feedbag”.  Meet at the Logansport campus at 1:45pm. 

December 18th:  Team Heartland meeting in Plymouth.  Start time is 5:00pm. 

“A Not So Silent Night” Christmas Celebration- FRIDAY December 23rd.  Join us for a special family Christmas worship service.  There will be NO Sunday morning service that week.  We wil have church on Friday instead.  Start time is 6:00pm.

Fall Happenings……

On Friday, October 28th, Jerri Torrey is hosting a fall party at her house!  There will be hot dogs and chili provided, and please bring a covered dish to share.  Her house is located at 3506 Perrysburg Rd., and the party is from 6-9 p.m.  Costumes are optional.

October 30th, from 5-7 p.m., is our Halloween trick-or-treat outreach at Craig and Val’s house, 1515 E. Broadway.  We will be passing out awesome finger lights, with stickers inviting kids to our KWAM service.  Stop in and say hi, or take your kids if you’re out and about!

Rock Youth had a successful t-shirt outreach on Thursday!  The youth group meets every Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the church in Winamac.  This week is a bonfire!  And on November 11th, Logansport is hosting a scavenger hunt and bonfire event at 7 p.m.  All teens in grades 6-12 are welcome!

Finally, our missions banquet is at COTH Winamac on Sunday, November 6th!  This is our annual celebration of missions, with dinner. kids ministries, and many chances to get involved in what God is doing at home and abroad! Our kids ministries will be participating in Operation Christmas Child from now until November 6th. The kids will be packing boxes and writing notes to the recipients at the banquet.  There is a wrapped box in the foyer for any small items you would like to donate for the Christmas boxes!  We also need lots of shoe boxes to fill up if you have them lying around!

Items being collected are:

• sunglasses
• hair clips
• toy jewelry
• flashlights with batteries
• stuffed animals
• jump ropes
• play dough
• puzzles
• balls

RSVP cards for the banquet are available at church.  Be sure to get yours turned in by October 30th!

Important Information

Africa on your heart?      At 6:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23rd, at Jarrety’s in Rochester, we will have an informational meeting for people who are interested in a possible trip to Uganda in June of 2012.  If you’re praying about a trip to Africa next summer, it’s important that you be at this meeting!!  If you know of anybody who is considering joining us, please let them know to be there Friday. 

Ladies Retreat,  October 7 & 8 is going to be a wonderful time with COTH gals & friends.  Be sure to let Bunny Decker know if you’re going.

Just a reminder that our Rock Youth group meets from 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays, and all kids and teens in grades 6 through 12 are welcome!  The teens are working through the Emerge curriculum from Jesus Culture and learning a lot from it!  Meet at church at 5:00 for a ride!

Summer in the Heartland

Here’s some “smoking hot” (everything’s smokin’ hot this week,lol) opportunities to connect, written from a much appreciated air conditioned home!

This WEEK, July 28-30, is KWAM kids and youth camp at Tippecanoe State Park. The kids and teens are very excited about camp! If you’re not attending as a counselor, camper, or helper on site, you can still be a part of this amazing time for kids and youth by praying that God touches their hearts and changes their lives! This camp is sure to be an unforgettable memory-maker for our COTH young people!

Coming up on Sunday, August 7th, is our third annual Summer in the Heartland festival at COTH Winamac campus. We’ll be celebrating 24 years of ministry for Pastor Herb and Sandy Hiatt! The festival is from 4-7 and includes live praise and worship, inflatables, food, sno cones, and entertainment – all free! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to fellowship with other Heartlanders and celebrate what God is doing in our churches! Also included in the Summer in the Heartland festival is the second annual “Heartland’s Got Talent” show. Showcase your singing, dancing, dramatic, creative, off-the-wall talents!!! For any of you who are interested in Bible college this year, the orientation for North Central Indiana Bible College is Friday, August 19th, from 6-9 pm. at the Winamac campus. This is a great opportunity to see what Bible college is all about and to get any questions you might have answered. The motto for our Bible college is “Your gateway to destiny.” Ask anyone who has attended in the past – it really is a life changing experience that helps to launch you into the destiny that God has planned for you! Classes begin on Saturday, August 20, from 5-9 pm and are held on Saturday nights in Winamac.
